Ms. Georgina Fernandes

Georgina graduated from the Bombay Zoo with a first class honours in rhino reproduction.
Since she is happiest among animals, she decided to work at CAT's office. She fled the Bombay Natural History Society when they started talking about preserving her in formaldehyde for future generations. She always Thinks Green and therefore has frequent accidents at traffic lights. She moves around in a four-door Mobile Creche that runs on peanut butter.

Firm and clear about what she wants and how she wants to go about it. Open to suggestions and criticisms and has the innate ability to bring extraordinary earth shaking talent out of ordinary humans. Patient, diligent, super creative and loves interacting with kids on environment. To know more, mail her at georgina@cat.org.in

Dr. Sayed Nudrat Zawar

If Pavan has neckties, Nudrat has a hijab dealership. She has hijabs. Lots and lots of them. In every colour except green. She wears them all the time, and only takes them off for her Facebook profile photos. She says she is a botanist but finds it difficult to identify a tree unless it's under a microscope. This makes things Very Interesting. Just last week she attempted to stick a rain tree under her microscope, and the Fire Brigade had a really hard time getting her out of it. She is easily annoyed, especially by Debi and Gautam and is frightened of Navroz. Every summer she trots off to Dharamshala where she claims she has planted trees. When asked for evidence, she points to photographs of herself under waterfalls striking sensuous poses (of Nudrat, not the waterfall). At present, she is struggling to learn how to pack a bag for court without forgetting important documents. Find her on Facebook. Why anyone would want to email her at nudrat@cat.org.in is unclear. In truth she wanted to be a taxi driver but she really can't spell so she became a taxonomist instead. Ambika says she cooks really well, but nobody's been invited yet.

Ms. Roopali Raghavan

Ms. Roopali Raghavan is a great disservice to the term wildlife biologist with nothing even remotely wild about her. She has spent most of her eight year career monkeying around, trying to get elephants to chase her, and hoping to get school kids bite the environment bug (If only it was the other way around!). Post her cross examination in the Thane Court; she was permitted voluntary service in lieu of a jail term. That explains why she would be found carrying tons of files in the Bombay High Court. She joined CAT thinking she would be paid to spend time playing with kittens, but discovered life had other plans for her. One can always try reaching her at roopali@cat.org.in, as she drifts from project to city, often lost in the wilderness of her dreams.

Mr Debi Goenka

Mr Debi Goenka (aka God) is the charging ibex of the conservation world. He can lock antlers with anyone over anything and, in pursuit of his monomaniacal desire to see a greener world, does so at the slightest opportunity. He has worked with people you wouldn't believe, including the Government and Nudrat. His passion is protecting the city's mangroves. He has variously been accused of being a CIA spy, a builder's lackey and a greater menace than Dennis. In truth, he is an environmental evangelist with plans to start his own TV channel. His toll-free number is 1-800-I-AM-A-CAT. Since he loves big cats, it is only fitting that he drives a Jaguar. "Better than an Impala," he says. "Plus it has eight cylinders." Six, actually, but who's counting?

Debi has now discovered that there is a Leopard that he can drive.

He thinks it is a perfect low cost vehicle for Mumbai's roads.

Here is a picture of his test drive in Germany when he bought his at a surplus sale".

Mr.Ajay Rastogi

Mr Ajay Rastogi has perfected the Art of Living Dangerously: he believes in travelling by taxi and train. When he's not doing either, he's running marathons. These are necessary skills for, as the Honorary Treasurer of CAT it is his job to see that we can spend more than we should and still not run out of money. He has conference calls every Wednesday.

Mr Gautam Patel

Mr Gautam Patel claims to be a lawyer in the High Court and concerned about the environment but there is little evidence to support either assertion particularly the latter since he smokes, drinks and eats meat (in which endeavours all efforts to dissuade him have miserably failed). We call on him to design newsletters, advise on computer gear, throw parties centred around copious quantities of vodka and generally to make an infernal nuisance of himself. In times of crisis, he can always be relied on to go missing. He loves his fifty two fountain pens, nine thousand books (none of which he has read), two computers, three dogs, two daughters, one wife and two parents (whether or not in that order remains an enduring mystery). He also does not respond to unsolicited mail, so please do not email him at gautam@gautampatel.com

Ms. Priti Devi

"Priti Devi is an environmentalist (like everybody else here so it's really no big deal), wild-life enthusiast and social-equity advocate (and nobody has the slightest clue what that means, but, like Priti, it sure looks good). An inveterate itinerant, she has a carbon footprint that would make a bison blush. She assuages her guilt by nagging companies to bring new Clean Technology processes to India. Cogent evidence of her success in this endeavour will be available on the CAT website soon (check back in mid-2022). She supports us from Singapore, the cleanest, most efficient and most excruciatingly boring city in the world. Thank god it's only a city. Otherwise it would be Switzerland. Previously, Priti worked for Shell. Which sort of explains everything."
