Ms. Roopali Raghavan is a great disservice to the term wildlife biologist with nothing even remotely wild about her. She has spent most of her eight year career monkeying around, trying to get elephants to chase her, and hoping to get school kids bite the environment bug (If only it was the other way around!). Post her cross examination in the Thane Court; she was permitted voluntary service in lieu of a jail term. That explains why she would be found carrying tons of files in the Bombay High Court. She joined CAT thinking she would be paid to spend time playing with kittens, but discovered life had other plans for her. One can always try reaching her at roopali@cat.org.in, as she drifts from project to city, often lost in the wilderness of her dreams.
Conservation Action Trust is a Mumbai-based environmental NGO that mainly deals with issues concerning conservation of mangroves and forests. We create environmental awareness through educational activities, provide legal advice to those in need, and carry out afforestation and soil moisture conservation activities in Dharmshala. When we say we are Environmental Crusaders with a difference, we mean it. Our group comprises of a Board of Trustees who are the wackiest of the lot; while the staff working at New Marine Lines, Thane and Sanpada are wild and "true to their nature".
